Completed in 2024, Care Found Here Blondell Avenue is a 200-bed single adult shelter for homeless adults located in the Westchester Square area of the Bronx. This project was developed by Care for the Homeless under DHS’ Nonprofit-Owned shelter program, which provides 30-year debt service contracts to nonprofits to support financing for the development of purpose-built homeless shelters.
The property is owned and operated by Care for the Homeless and includes an on-site Federally Qualified Health Center. The project includes state-of-the-art recreation space, a computer lab, a lounge area, and a large dining space. Residents will have access to on-site physical and mental health care services provided by direct care staff including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, case managers, housing specialists, and recreation coordinators.
Rockabill led the development process on behalf of Care for the Homeless and engaged partners BWE and Nuveen to structure and execute $53.1M in construction and permanent financing for this transaction.
