Katie brings a wide range of underwriting, project management, and nonprofit administration skills to the organization. Her extensive work in affordable and supportive housing and shelter development has resulted in the successful completion of over 2,500 units of preservation and new construction multifamily, supportive, and senior housing projects in four states. Katie takes a comprehensive approach to projects, and she is committed to seeing each deal through – to that end, she has a history of working closely not only with finance, design, and construction professionals but also with property and asset managers, social service providers, and tenants to ensure resident and stakeholder success for the long term.
Katie’s commitment to affordable housing stems from her strong belief that all individuals and families have a right to sustainable affordable housing and the services they need. Recognizing this need, she has worked to develop a deep understanding of the financing tools and management best practices that enable owner/operators to ensure long-term affordability and the viability of their assets. This dual focus enables her to work successfully with and on behalf of the communities served by Rockabill’s projects.
Prior to her move to New York in early 2018, she worked for several years with established Chicago-based developers – including the Acquisitions team at Evergreen Real Estate Group and as a Vice President at UP Development, LLC, specializing in supportive housing. More recently, she served as the Director of Housing Development at Southside United HDFC in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Katie holds a Bachelor of Science from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, where she graduated with honors. She has attended the CSH Supportive Housing Institute in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, and is a certified Tax Credit Specialist.
